Under Twelve Schoolboys Cup First Round

Tombrack United  2  Ferns United  3

The Under Twelve boys made the short drive to Ferns and unluckily bowed out to our near neighbours in a five goal thriller. Alex Kavanagh and Stephen O Toole scored for Tombrack while Oisin Regan was outstanding in goal but it was not enough to stop a sharp Ferns side from booking their place in the second round

Under Fourteen Schoolboys Cup First Round

Corach Ramblers  2  Tombrack United  2  aet (Corach won on penalties)

These two sides were meeting for the second time in two weeks with Tombrack winning the league match 2-1 in November and this game proved to be as equally as exciting as the league encounter. Goals from Colm Fortune and John Joe Murphy had Tombrack 2-0 ahead and cruising but Corach never gave up and pulled two goals out of nothing and bring the game to extra time. No further goals in the extra time, although Tombrack did enjoy the better of the chances, saw the game go to penalties where Ramblers held their nerve to go through to the second round

Under Sixteen Schoolboys Cup First Round

Tombrack United  0  Forth Celtic  4

Our Under Sixteen's were drawn against the top side in the county at present and with five divisions separating the sides, it was always going to be a big task for Tombrack to cause an upset. However for long periods of the first half, the lads more than matched Forth Celtic and had chances to go ahead and it looked like the sides might go in level at the break, the visitors capitalised on a defensive error and scored to go in 1-0 ahead. The second half was very much the same vein as Tombrack went in search of an equaliser while Forth kept control of possession but not creating many clearcut chances until ten minutes from time when a well struck shot found the net for a 2-0 lead. Two goals in the final two minutes gave Forth Celtic a flattering 4-0 victory while Tombrack can be very proud of their hard working performance and can now concentrate on their final three games of the league where they currently sit in second place

Under Sixteen Schoolgirls Premier Division

Forth Celtic  2  Tombrack United  2

A very closely contested top of the table clash saw two of the main challengers for the title have to settle for a point each after a titanic struggle saw Tombrack come from 2-0 down. The first half was shaded by the home side and while Lucy Kemble and Nadine Fortune went close for Tombrack, it was Leanne Kenny in the goal who was the busiest and kept her side in the game with two excellent saves. After a scoreless first half, it was Celtic who took the lead when they scored a free kick just ten minutes into the second half and midway through the half, they doubled their advantage when Tombrack failed to clear the ball and a Forth forward poked the ball into the net for 2-0. The visitors quickly pulled one back when some some good link up play between Shauna McGovern, Luck Kemble put Nadine Fortune through to shoot past the keeper. Continued pressure saw Tombrack finally get back on level terms when a through ball from Amy Tobin Cosgrave put Nadine in on goal to score her second and give Tombrack a well deserved point in what is a very competitive and tight division and the girls now head into the new year, still well in contention to retain their premier title
